Who I was, who I am and who I want to be

During the summer of 2008 me and my family moved from Kitchener, Ontario to Surrey,BC. This is one day that I clearly remember. It was a rainy damp day, and we were driving to our hotel, "Sheraton". I had butterflies in my tummy because I was anxious of starting grade 6, at MB Sanford, that following week. I always knew that I was a. Dry quiet person back then and it would take me numerous days, to make new friends. In was never one of those cool, popular kids that fit in everywhere. However, when I arrived to MB Sanford, I was surprised to see so many welcoming faces. Maybe for this reason, I felt unique so I walked with my head held high and my nose in the air, thinking I looked extremely cool. But little did I know, I would trip and fall while walking down the stairs on the first day! Everyone stared at me, and looked as if they were trying to hide their smile. I could not believe that I had humiliated myself, right on the first day of school! So I suppose we all learn from our mistakes. I learnt that showing off won't take you anywhere in life, and it's important to be true to yourself.
So right now, I am in grade 12 and I go to Sullivan heights secondary. For me, high school has been a challenging but interesting experience. There have been many ups and downs but I am looking forward to be graduating this year. In addition I am shy around people I don't know, but I'm trying to overcome that. Furthermore, one. Of my hobby is that I love all kinds of books! If I had a choice, I could stay in the library all day and just read! My favourite book genres are ; romantic comedies and thriller books. My family teases me about this because they would rather see me watch a textbook in my hand than a novel. My mom thinks that I should be studying more than reading fictional books. However, I disagree reading makes me feel happy and excited. Plus, novels give you plenty of knowledge. Moving on, English is one of my favourite subject and especially this year. Since we get to read Hamlet and will be doing a dystopian novel unit. So it's going to be a exciting year.
When I stare at my reflection in the mirror, I always wonder what will I become in the next ten years. For sure, Irish to be successful and open my own business. I enjoy the subject Math, so I think I will be heading to become an accountant. To achieve this goal I am taking Accounting 12 and I hope I ace the course. So hopefully, in the next few years I will get my masters degree in university and become a professional accountant. However I know that dreams don't happen easily, and you have to work your butt off and take baby steps to succeed. Furthermore, I have always pictured myself living in a high rise building alone, or with my closest friends. Therefore, when I'll be working part time at post secondary, I'll save money to buy my own apartment. In addition, if I look deeper into the future like another 15-20 years, I also wish to be happily married and settled. Moving on, I am excited for my senior year and I am going to work extra hard to fulfill my dreams!

About me

I am currently in grade 12, and I go to Sullivan Heights Secondary. Many people say that I look young for my age, and my favourite subjects are English and Chemistry. In addition, I am excited for grade 12 this year, and all the interesting projects and assignments we will be doing. Furthermore, my 3 English 12 goals are; do my best on all assignments and tests, have a strong writing structure and last, manage my time well- do not procrastinate! To achieve all these goals, I know I need to be determined and committed. For instance, I tend to procrastinate and I have to overcome that. I need to be more organized and get to work when I get the assignment, not leave it at the last minute. I must also practice, and read many provincial exams because want to be fully prepared for it. I need to improve my writing structure and will be asking Ms.Garr for help.  Lastly, I will try my best on all assignments and tests, so I can receive at least an 80% in English 12 this year. Hopefully, I will be able to achieve these three learning goals because they will be helpful for me in the long run.
