Offred's POV: I was sent by Cora to buy more eggs, milk and butter for tonight's disgusting meal. And out of nowhere that idiot Janine enters the store. Me and Ofglen were shocked to see her pregnant. It surprised me how she looked down on us, as if she is so superior, I hate her. I clearly remember how disrespectful she was towards me at the Red Centre, and would always call me ugly, and useless. She would hurt me so much and always made me cry. Me and Moira (my former best friend, now I barely see her) could never stand her. Today she casually walked towards me and Ofglen, and gave us a huge smirk, as if we will never be lucky as her! I know our only use is to bare children, but it has been two years and luck has not even struck me once. If only a miracle would happen soon.
Ofglen's POV: It was plenty of fun coming to the Alflesh store today. I got to show off my belly to the weirdo's Offred and Ofglen, it was amusing to watch their little faces. I could tell they were so jealous and kept on staring at me. I am just so happy that I am finally pregnant, or I would have been sent to the dreadful place, The Colonies. However, I wish I don't get another miscarriage, I need to bring this baby into the world. I also have to make my Commander and his Wife proud, or there will be severe consequences for me. I have a big secret that I have kept inside me for these past months...this is not my Commanders child, it is my doctors! If even anyone gets slightest suspicious, I could be hung!
