The book that I chose to read was " The Kite Runner" written by, Khaled Hosseini. I found the book incredibly- well written, however tragic. It is about a man named Amir, that returns to Afghanistan after many years and how his life was before the coup took over, and ended Afghanistan's monarchy. The book was also about a father-son relationship and is also among two brothers that dealt with guilt and forgiveness. I found it extremely horrifying when little Hassan had to deal with getting raped by Assef, because of his status. It was disgusting and I could not believe how someone can be that cruel and heartless. In addition, it seems that Amir is finding is quite difficult because his "past is calling". Amir could not stand up for Hassan-when he was raped. Amir just quietly stood by the ally and watched his friend get suffer-pretending it never happened. In my opinion, Amir is a big coward, he could not stand up for something that was totally wrong and I was shocked when Amir just stood their awkwardly during that specific scene of the story. Overall, I found the story a little slow because I am still unaware of what is going to happen and I found it sad too. Some scenes of "The Kite Runner" were unbearable and miserable that I had to put the book down, and breathe.
